When Kaleena contacted me to do a few professional head shots for business cards, and for her resume, I was so excited to do them for her. We first met and became friends three years ago through the Fully Alive women’s ministry at our church, Heritage Memorial Church, where she is also a preschool teacher. She is a true servant for the Lord and goes above and beyond for the children in her class. I can truly vouch for that because one of my sons is in her class. I have noticed how closely she pays attention to each child’s way of learning. With that, she uses it to teach them in the way they respond the best in a classroom setting. I couldn’t be more thankful for that and it gives me a sense of relief to know when she is working on Sundays not because she is more than qualified from her degrees and years of experience but also just knowing the kind, loving, and caring heart that she genuinely possesses for teaching.
Kaleena’s educational background: She has a BA in Christian Education/Missions from Ohio Christian University, and a MS in Early Childhood Leadership from Walden University. She is currently a substitute teacher and working on being an Early Childhood Trainer. Her passion is working with children, their families, and early childhood professionals on benefits of learning through play, inclusion, and trauma component care.
Aside from her qualifications and passion in the educational field, she loves to do crafts with her four kids, loves to hike, go on obstacle course races, and loves to read. She recently lead a book study at our church for the book “Made to Crave.” I was apart of that group and what an amazing testimony she shared about not focusing on worldly things but being made to crave God and God alone. She reminded that even if we can’t control circumstances, we can still control our choices!
