I was asked to take photos at my church’s Mother/Daughter banquet that is always beautifully put on by the Fully Alive women’s ministry. It was such an honor and a privilege. I had been to two banquets prior with my mom and we always have a really good time! They always find the best speakers too and this year was Kirsten Hart.
When Linda first approached me right after church service one Sunday morning I originally thought she was asking for photos with Grace and Erika, her two daughter-in-laws. I hadn’t been able to attend Fully Alive Women’s Ministry every first Monday of the month this year so I forgot how soon the banquet was coming up!
When we were finally able to reconnect another Sunday and work out the details I was so excited she was asking me to do this event. I had a blast! Also huge shoutout to the men of our church who volunteered to serve food to all the moms! Great job!
I asked Linda if she wouldn’t mind sharing with me a little back story of the banquet and how they find their speakers.
The event was something that the church did before Linda came to Heritage but it changed and died out. Fully Alive actually came to an end because of changes and then about 15-20 years ago a new committee was formed and Fully Alive was reformed. Linda was asked to lead it and through many committee member changes, program changes, and bible studies, Fully Alive is what you see today! They began the dinner again about 15 years ago. It started slow but slowly caught on and the ladies love to come! As to how they find the speakers, it might sound cliche but they pray about it and God leads them to a speaker. It’s fun to watch God work! After someone is brought up Linda does the research and makes sure they live what they say and love the Lord. This year to find Kirsten Hart, Fully Alive received a postcard that she mailed out promoting herself as a speaker. Linda did her research, spoke with her through email, and then brought her to the committee. It was a yes and off they went!
So very grateful to this ministry and the hard work that goes into the banquet! Thanks again for having me Linda and Fully Alive ladies! I am so blessed to know each of you and continually proud to be a part of our church family at Heritage Memorial Church. God is good, all of the time. Fully Alive Mother/Daughter banquet is one you don’t want to miss so if you’ve never come or haven’t been in a long time, please come and let the spirit pour into you! We welcome you next year and every year following.
